Spain

So i know i havn't posted for a while and no there arnt any excuses, but somthing happened that sparked me in to action. no not getting a new job not a life changing event not the discovery that when i take off my glasses i gain superpowers. No its simmply an of gaurd traveling experience. having sucessfully navigated southern and east africa i sliped up on a recent trip to the notoriously difficult travel location of Spain.

So me and josie went over to spain to see a A friend named Kren. no problem there but on the monday she was working so off we trecked to Cordoba, still no problem bought the tickets managed to sucsessfully check twice that it was in deed a return ticket, no problem. get to cordoba speak to the english speaking Tourist office and made sure that we had tickets back. no problem she said just turn up she said. 7 pm come up and we decide to return home, or so we thought. When we get to the station all we find out that all though we have a return ticket we have no reservations. Queue 1! Then we find a guy who speaks english who tells us to queue somewhere else for todays trains. Queue 2. then we find out all the trains are full( now by full they mean all the seats are taken and it is imposible to stand as that would be unsafe, get that no standing on spanish trains! emagine that on british rail) Queue 3, then we queue for a ticket for reservations. Queue 4. finally after being placed 109th in the queue we finally get the only 2 remaining spaces on a train for the following day. queue 5 and 2 hours later.

the upshot of all this is that we had to stay the night in what seems to be the only town in spain with no night life. but i did learn two important leasons

1) When in spain always get a return resivation!!!
2) Whenever you are in a spanish station for whatever reason no matter how small even if you just need the loo, always get a que ticket just in case!!!
