Wine

Righty oh.

If you have two standard sized glasses of wine One red and one white (standard measure) and you do the following.
  1. Take a teaspoon of red and pour it in to the white wine
  2. swish the glass around
  3. Take a teaspoon of the white wine (slightly mixed) and pour it in to the red
  4. swish the glass around

Will the red wine glass have more white wine in it or will the white wine glass have more red wine in it. The important thinnest here is why?

thanks go to Steve for this one, and if any of you are ever being interview by him have the answer prepared.

Kilimanjaro

Well bolstered by my successful Ascent of snowdon I am now setting my heights a bit higher. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, just so happens to be bang smack in the middle of where Josie and Mirium leave me (Dar Es Sallam) and where my flight takes off from (Nairobi). I think I also have a couple of weeks spare on my own to make this journey.

The quickest ascent up killie takes 5 days but I am planning to do the slightly longer but less busy route to the top which takes 7 days plus another 2 days to acclimatize so I don't go mad through the altitude.

This part of the trip would probably take place around end of March beginning of April and I will hopfully be joined by Alex, Steve, Kate, Cat and Bethan. And any one else that fancies it.

The one problem I am thinking about now is what should I take to Africa, as currently I plan on the light weight approach taking only a couple of pairs of trousers and not really taking any heavy mountaineering Gear, which I probably wouldn't need for the rest of Africa, and I don't really know what I would need for Killie. But hey I have about a month to decide.

Snowdon

Once again a weekend has been spent in snowdonia, and once again I had a really good weekend, this weekend we did the Snowdon Horseshoe which for those of you who don't know is a long a thin ridge at about 900 meters, which can leave people quite daunted.

I was definitely in a mood to motor on and powered ahead passed the huge hordes of traffic that inevitably builds up on a ridge leading to the busiest mountain in Wales. This weekend there where fairly strong winds and this lead to many Crib Goch virgins hugging the rock for safety as I bounded on past.

At one point the devil almost got the better of me as I was asked for directions, but it really kicked when I heard someone behind me say "follow that guy he looks like he knows what hes doing" as they pointed to where I was gripping the rock, everybody has to lean at some point that following me will only lead to trouble.

Puzzle

Heres a puzzle for you while your waiting for my life to get more interesting

"U2" have a concert that starts in 17 minutes and they must all cross a
bridge to get there. All four men begin on the same side of the bridge.
You must help them across to the other side. It is night. There is one
flashlight. A maximum of two people can cross at one time. Any party who
crosses, either 1 or 2 people, must have the flashlight with them.
The flashlight must be walked back and forth, it cannot be thrown, etc.
Each band member walks at a different speed. A pair must walk together

at the rate of the slower man's pace:
Bono:- 1 minute to cross
Edge:- 2 minutes to cross
Adam:- 5 minutes to cross
Larry:-10 minutes to cross

For example: If Bono and Larry walk across first, 10 minutes have
elapsed when they get to the other side of the bridge. If Larry then
returns with the flashlight, a total of 20 minutes have passed and you
have failed the mission.
Notes:- There is no trick behind this. It is the simple movement of
resources in the appropriate order. There are two known answers to this
problem.

BTCC - Snetterton

Spent a day at the races yesterday a nice Hot sunny day watching lots of very fast cars swishing past, quite a nice day out in the end but as well organized as possible none of us had though about bring any cash only cards and so buying food and drink became a problem.

The racing was good and Kieth took loads of pictures follow his link on the side to see those.

I succumbed to the unstopable shopper within me an bought myself a swish little Fleece, this was despite be categorical stating to Sarah just 5 minutes earlier that "I haven't had the urge to buy anything yet".

It is looking like I might get to finish work mid October now so that should be good.

every weekend from now until Africa has now been booked up and I am feeling extremely busy.
