I will be having a party in a pub somwhere in central london on friday 7th April i will let you know the venue as soon as i have one (it is a little difficult to sort from the souther hemisphere).

so keep the date free bring people i don't know as well as ones i do.

also talking about parties, kellie scott that looks like a disgraceful party, keep up the good work.

Planes And the mara

Well it seems i to have lost a posting that i did from addis about getting stuck in lalibella a place with the most amazing rock hewn churches, but very little else, eventually after three attempts i managed to leave it was first too hot to fly then to windy then too stormy, but eventually the plane could take off only to have a problem with " an exsess number of birds on the runway" my thoughts went back to british rail.

any way i am now in nirobi after having gone on safari to the masai mara game reserve and finally managed to finish off the big five it appears that after months in africa i can finally say with conviction that leopards do actually exist, the rest of the mara was cool exept that we kept braking down. but did get some cool photos.

Simien mountains

Well i am still in africa but i am now bloody freezing went spent the last 5 days above 3000 mtrs in the middle of the simien mountains. it felt like a right proper expedition with and mule a mule man and an armed escort apparently there are still bandits around in the mountains and one old guy with a gun is going to stop them all. the scout also doubles as a park ranger and as a wandering preacher so he went from shouting at small children up to no good to kissing the foreheads of any one who passed him.

it was really cool to get away from all the hussle for a while there is a very big begging culture over here and it gets to you after a while also as there are not many tourists the locals are facinated by any tourist that passes them by and insist on staring and shouting things like "you, you", "mister", "give me birr(money)\bottle\highland(mineral water)", they also have a habit of just following you and saying nothing or just constantlly saying hello, which after a couple of hours is quite annoying, but in the mountians its not quite as intense.

off to axom tommorrow in the far north there is a lot of talk about possible troubles with eratreia in the near future and there are apparently lots of tanks up there but the real attraction is that the ark of the covenant is supposedly there.
